Hey, tomz/TIDE (what does that name mean anyway?), I couldn't name many mid '90's games from the top of my head, to be honest. Can you or anyone else out there name a few decent games from the "dying days"? Apparantly there's a Mortal Kombat conversion out there somewhere! And if you read the latest issue of Retro Gamer, you'll see a screenshot of a Spectrum version of the said game! _________________ Daniel C |

@DanielC - My kids gave me my nick (handle) I used to have a couple of C64s hooked up when they were living with me,they had their C64 and I had mine, and because I forbade them to use my C64 they wrote TOMS on it one day,my daughter Ingrid changed the S to a Z as its also the last letter of my Family name and since then I mostly used this nick, mostly
Street Fighter I have in my collection somewhere it consists of several disks (I think 5) and although its a reasonable conversion the constant disk changing makes it hard to use.
As for top C64 games...........
Creatures/NZ Story/Anarchy/Strider/Cybernoid/Pirates/Dizzy series and a maybe a few hundred more........
But we can do a countdown like we do in the Amiga section so heres
99-Pacland

Yeah, Anarchy! What a great game that is so underrated! I think that you're the first person that's ever mentioned it in any forum. Some other greats: the Cauldron series, the Turrican series, Ghosts 'n' Goblins, Spindizzy, Lemmings, Uridium, Thrust, the Boulder Dash series, and of course, the Arkanoid series. How does this work, do I place a title at ninety-eight? Or does everyone contribute their most loved games and the moderator compiles them into a top one-hundred? _________________ Daniel C |

@-DanielC - Yeah mate lets make the next one 98 reducing down to 1
I first had Anarchy on tape and the Hewson loader screen and the intro page with a nice tune got me interested and then the gameplay itself had some sort of longevity about it,Ive also got a PC version of the game but thats doesnt play as good as the ori C64 version.
So which game did you want to call no.98??

Well, this far up the chart, the games are going to be pretty average so that I can save the good stuff 'til later. So...

Refresh my memory, tomz. What's DRELBS? Is that an acronym? I bet I'll know it as soon as you say it! There's stacks of games that I love on the C64 but they don't deserve to be so low in the charts. I'm trying to think of games that are good but not brilliant.

@-DanielC- DRELBS is a single screen paclike game your player wonders around digesting dots but as you travel you move gates/walls (opening them or closing them) which in turn restricts some of your moves, this fun part along with the various monsters chasing you at increasing speeds make the game interesting and if memory serves me correctly it was released around 1984-5 ?
@-Ike-Zamzara I have seen in my colly cant remember the gameplay
