Well, do you know the 2004 pc remake from Sid Meier himself? Well, it's the same, only less graphics. So you are looking at a dressed off pc 2004 version. It is nice and I like it. But then, I am obsessed with Pirates, so I am not objective.
I still have the first edition of the C64 tape version, with the first edition print manual and map. All in neat condition. I am proud of it!
I got it from my mother, just when it came out. I was waiting for that one! _________________ If it ain't Pirates! Then walk the plank! |

It's way better. I love the 2004 edition. It has much and much more than the old version. You have to dance to keep the gals happy and have to rescue family to find a great treasure, the depth is the same, you are totally free, but way way way way way way and way much more types of ships and the gfx are great. Dolphins swim next to your ship, you see stranded and sunk ships all over the place and the sound is cool!
You would have to see it to believe it, but Sid dit a great job and still is the master of game making! _________________ If it ain't Pirates! Then walk the plank! |

Hey, guys,
Has anyone out there played the C64 version of Lemmings? It wasn't released until about 1994 (in the "dying days") and it is an amazing testament to the incredible versatility of this amazing machine. Sure, the C64 version only sported a maximum of thirty Lemmings on screen at once (compared to say, the Mega Drive version which had a hundred) but the puzzles and game play are just as challenging and graphically, it can sometimes appear 16-bit (which, of course, the programmers were trying to achieve as the game was originally intended for 16-bit machines). I'm not sure how hard it is to get a copy as I got hold of one through secret dealings with the devil but I know that late-release games for the C64 (or any 8-bit system's games in the mid-nineties for that matter) are reasonably differcult to obtain. YOU MUST TRY! _________________ Daniel C |
