I have had soo many garage sale bargains, but just to name a few-
i bought a NES console with about 10 boxed games for AU$2!
another NES console with a gameboy plus loads of games for $15
a Commodore 64 with two disk drives and boxes of disks for $15
and last of all a boxed Amiga 500 with loads of disks for $30
what bargains have you guys bought from garage sales / markets? |

Thats a hard one I am suffering severe garage sale withdrawal at the moment havent had time in a long while. I got a absolute heap of games consoles and access from a video shop recently for a few hundred... but they took some cleaning I must say.. I have been working at an auction recently part time thats the best place youd be surprised what you find in the $2.00 box lots
Just on the subject I have also found that living in a rural area sometimes by checking out all the old repair places they have quite often go surplus spares from back in the day, that can be quite handy |

a garage sale!! my god i haven`t been to one of those in years so i haven`t had any bargins from one,i think about 8 years ago i picked up a c64 with about 10 games for ?5,i haven`t got still now but have just started collecting again.......when it comes to collecting i`m very strict and unless whatever i`m buying comes in it`s original box i won`t touch it,just bought a mint condition playstation one off ebay in it`s box and trying to get my hands on a sega megadrive,i find it strange that i had both at one time or another but got bored with them and sold them,no i`m trying to collect them again. |

My best garage sale bargain has to be my 1750 Ram Expansion unit, the owner had no idea what it was (and I did!!) and what it was for,it cost me $10AU. Yeah I was pretty stoked to get it.

its great when people dont know what they have, you go to the garage sale, see some retro item and your heart skips a beat! then camly you grab it and as if you dont really care - you ask them how much it is - then they say some rediculously low amount and you walk away INCREDIBLY HAPPY!
speaking of the 1750 check this auction out:
Commodore 1750 REU Ram Expansion Module
its upto US$81 with 2 days to go!
you definately got a huge bargain there = ) |

I LOVE garage sales! Hard waste clean up days are great too! But as for garage sales and retro-related bargains, I bought THIRTY-TWO Sega Game Gear games, some of which were STILL SEALED and ALL had original boxes, instructions, packaging inserts and plastic wrapping for...wait for it...ONE DOLLAR EACH! Apparently they were former wholesalers or something. They did, however, have enough brains to know that the GG TV tuner was worth something but I still got that for $30.00 (unboxed, though). _________________ Daniel C |

$1 each! now you know that your having a good day when you come across that!
I think its the best feeling when you turn up to a garage sale and as your walking up you see some kind of retro gaming related item / items! i rush straight over and grab it = )
i havent been to any garage sales in quite a while now (weve moved to a pretty small town) but have had some pretty good finds over the years... |
