Hi all, for my 1st post on the forums, I thought I would share my 1st mod I have done to a console only about 3 months ago. It is a very simple mod to the SNES, and all I did was painted a yellowed looking SNES. Though I am happy with it as my 1st mod. Pics below:

Nice work!

ive got quite a few yellowed consoles that could do with a paint job...

did you need to use primer before you painted it?

Hi, yes I used primer. What I did is below in a summary list:

1) First I took it all apart and washed the case it in soapy water

2) Then I rough the surface up with some sandpaper

3) Then I sprayed some automotive primer and let dry for a few hours

4) Got some 800 grit wet and dry paper and smoothed the primer

5) Then I sprayed in light coats the paint and let 10 - 20 min to dry between coats until I got a even finish

6) Then after a few hours I sealed with clear coat/laqucer

Hope this helps people who come to this forum who want to mod their console.

Sorry I did not get back sooner, been busy. I do usually use Acrylic Car paint spray from Halfords, I used the acrylic car paint for the white and used Krylon spray paint for the blue.

I had no problems with the plastic becoming soft, as I think the primer helped to prevent that. Thanks for the comment.
